I Heart Faces--Paper

I haven't entered an I Heart Faces contest in a while but when I saw what my little "angel" has been up to today, I decided it would fit this week's "paper" theme. She was unrolling the toilet paper, and then putting it in the garbage. At 13 months, I'm pretty happy that she likes to clean up after herself. :)

You know the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words". It's true, especially when the photo is done in photojournalist style. That's the point of photojournalism. The photo tells the story.

I could tell you all about these boys' adventure by the creek, but doesn't the picture say enough? :)

I Heart Beaches (Seriously!)

I do. I REALLY, really do. I grew up on the California coast and then went to school on the white sandy beaches of Florida. I love the feel of the sand between my toes and the sweet smell of the salty sea air. Ahhh, I can almost smell it now!

Being in the north central part of California now, I rarely get to the beach (it's been two years). The closest thing we have is a lake. A very large lake, but still not quite like the real thing. So, my "beach" pictures are more like "lake shore" pictures.

My favorite subjects just enjoying each other and a day at the "beach".

Little Miss L is One!

Little Miss L is one and I got to photograph her birthday bash. Oh what a cutie she is! Her "cupcake" themed birthday party was perfect and beautiful down to every last detail. Happy Birthday, Miss L!

I Heart "Over Head"

My entry today for I Heart Faces is maybe a little bit of a stretch. The "over head" is the reflection of the sky and clouds over my daughter's reflection in the water.

I Heart My Country

I can't even begin to tell you all the things I love about this country. I have traveled to more than 30 of the 50 states and seen so many beautiful places. I've been to 8 countries outside the US and have been amazed by God's creation. But, there isn't anything quite like being in your own home town. I love my little country town, but the thing that makes it really special is the family and friends. My parents and siblings (and their families) live around here and our favorite summer activity is to hang out on the lake together. My kids and their cousins can't wait to get out on the lake and play.

I love this one because it's so them...someone strangling a sister, someone else picking a nose, one looking off into their own little world... Boy, I love these kiddos!

Newborn Hanging Pose

I've really wanted to try the adorable pose where baby is suspended from a knit or gauze-type of sling. The result is just darling, but how I thought you got to that result put a little fear in to me. These little ones are the most delicate and precious gifts from God, and I certainly wouldn't want to put one at any risk. I was excited to find this article over on Photographer's Cafe blog. It's enlightened me as to how these beautiful newborn shots can be captured with the safety and comfort of baby in mind . I can't wait to try it!
